A California nonprofit Corporation

This California corporation is a nonprofit PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for public and charitable purposes.

Background:

The founder, Irandokht Maleki Shahrokhi (1934-2002) was an Iranian Immigrant who migrated to the United States after the Islamic revolution in 1979 and settled in California in early 1980.   She was a nurse mid-wife and also a co-founder of the Iranian American Nurses Association in Los Angeles in 1984.

She started her public work by assisting nurses in registering, studying and passing the California Nurse's Board exam and after that she worked relentlessly to find employment for the newly arrived nurses who had passed their exam.

Her activities fell dormant during the early to late 1990 when her husband of thirty five years and a retired Army full Colonel and Doctor, started his fight with brain cancer.  Shortly after caring for her husband through and including his last day of life, she started a fight with cancer herself and as a brave human being fought through her last days of life leaving this world on September 10, 2002 with her final words "be good and do good for each other" on to the heavens where she belongs.  She is survived by her son and daughter and three grandchildren who reside in California .

In her memory and honor, those who followed her goodness and pure heart to help humanity, came together and agreed to support this foundation.  The board thanks each and every person who takes any step in helping humanity and human beings in need.
