MALEKI FOUNDATION INVITES COMMUNITY TO ATTEND TOWN HALL MEETING WITH FBI AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

( Los Angeles , CA - 4/3/05 ) – The Maleki Foundation invites the larger community to attend a town hall meeting, co-hosted by the FBI's Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee (of which Maleki Foundation is a member organization and co-sponsor) and the FBI's Los Angeles Field office, on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Exposition Park Community Center in Los Angeles .

WHAT:         Town hall meeting (Open to the public)

WHERE:       Exposition Park Community Center , 3980 South Menlo Avenue , Los Angeles , Calif.

WHEN:         Saturday, April 8, 2006 , 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum wherein the FBI can address issues of public concern and answer questions posed by members of the community in an informal setting. 

All  groups are invited to participate in the meeting where attendees can learn and  will be encouraged to ask questions about the various types of matters investigated by the FBI, including; Counter-Terrorism, Public Corruption, Civil Rights and Hate Crimes, Internet Crimes and Identity Theft, Crimes Against Children, Gangs and Organized Crime.  In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to research a career with the FBI and to recognize the difference between fact and myth, as it relates to the FBI as an agency and how it enforces the laws of the United States .  

The media are invited to attend the town hall meeting; however, no still or video cameras will be allowed in the Exposition Park Community Center during the meeting.

The Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee (MCAC) was formed in 2004 with the following mission statement:  

“The Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee (MCAC) endeavors to create an environment to facilitate dialogue and enhance the relationship between the FBI and the Community which is based on mutual respect, understanding, and the protection of Constitutional rights and civil liberties.”
